Enrollment Indicators summarize the number and percentages of students enrolled in community colleges.

Community colleges enroll more than 40 percent of all undergraduates. Because of their open admission policy, community colleges play an important role in broadening students’ access to postsecondary education. Enrollment is the initial measure of this access because it is used to track the number of students who attend. Each year institutions report their enrollment figures to the U.S. Department of Education through the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.
