Lisa M. Chapman, Ed.D., has been in the North Carolina Community College System for 27 years. She currently serves as the System Senior Vice President for Programs and Student Services/Chief Academic Officer. Prior to her current role, Dr. Chapman was the Executive Vice President for Instruction/Chief Academic Officer at Central Carolina Community College, overseeing all instruction as well as recruiting and academic learning support services. Her tenure at Central Carolina included serving as a biology instructor, math and sciences department chair, and an academic dean. She has been engaged in a number of state-level community college committees and initiatives serving most recently as Co-Chair of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement Review Steering Committee. Dr. Chapman has also regularly served during the last five years as an evaluator on varied Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges off-site and on-site committees including substantive change visits as well as fifth-year review committee work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Master of Science in Physiology from East Tennessee State University, and Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
